Just checked into the Motel 6 in Charleston and said hello to the cockroach that greeted us in our room.
Drive was smooth sailing.
Stopped at at the North Carolina/South Carolina border, aka "South of the Border" to check out the sights. Fireworks aplenty and a whole bunch of racist billboards of cartoon mexicans named "Pedro."
Not that bad a place considering the price we paid for it. Gonna head out to a local food establishment for some dinner and see what downtown Charleston has to offer.
Status: Hungry and hopeful

Great to get an update--- looking forward to hearing more about the trip. Will you guys be eating at any places like they show on Diners,Drive-Thrus and Dives? Or are you wingin the food?
